Да 170-годдзя вынаходжання фотакарткі

У Гарадзенскім Старым Замку адкрылася выстава фота прымеркаваная 170-годдзю вынаходжання фотакарткі. Да агляду прадстаўлены вельмі цікавы фотаздымкі, ад 1860 году (Штумана) і заканчываючы 1935-м годам.
На гэтай выставы арганізатары імкнуліся максімальна паказаць артыстычныя атэлье, якія працавалі ў Гародні. Іх было больш 45-ці, а на выставе прадстаўлена трыццаць. Гэта сумесная праца з гарадзенскімі калекцыянерамі, а таксама калекцыянера з Нямеччыны. Вартасным дапаўненнем выставы стаўся ўдзел галерэі музею “Свет фота” з Менску, якая выставіла фотатэхніку, узрост якой сягае сто год. “Выстава будзе працаваць да красавіка наступнага году – 4 месяцы.

If you want to compete in next year's competition, please go to our special web entry site for the 2010 World Press Photo contest to request a password. When we have checked your application, we will send you the password so that you can upload your images. All material is automatically coded and can be saved and edited before submission. The deadline for submissions is 14 January, and passwords must be requested no later than 8 January. The entry site is the only way to send us your photos. It offers a choice of four languages: English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

The modified clause about image manipulation in our entry rules reads as follows: "The content of the image must not be altered. Only retouching which conforms to currently accepted standards in the industry is allowed. The jury is the ultimate arbiter of these standards and may at its discretion request the original, unretouched file as recorded by the camera or an untoned scan of the negative or slide." In essence, this means that the content of an image must not be tampered with. The new clause is flexible enough to allow the jury some room for interpretation, because enhancement may be defined differently, for example, for a portrait than for a hard news picture.

Before you enter your photos, take a moment to study the advice of jury chair Ayperi Karabuda Ecer. On our website she gives some insight into the jury procedure and says: "Don't address a picture story as a series of individual shots. The jury will be looking for the best edit. Spend time to create a real narrative involving information, emotion and personal style." Single images, she says, should be edited for impact. "You need to be ruthless as regards quality. Use this opportunity to surprise; adopt forms and subjects which take your work further."

«Черный паспорт» – это биография военного фотографа Стенли Грина. Военные фотографии в книге перемежаются с личными
Помимо фотографий «Черный паспорт» содержит и монологГрина.
За исключением одного эпизода – взгляда впрошлое – история Стенли рассказывается в хронологическом порядке. 26 эпизодов составлены из 26 наборов фотографий, каждый из которых открывается коротким монологом. Монтаж выдержан в кинематографическом стиле, макет напоминает черновой, словно это альбом для зарисовок.

Стенли Грин
Начав свою карьеру в качестве фотографа моды в Париже и опубликовав книгу о парижской ночной жизни, американский фотограф Стенли Грин решил переключиться на документальную фотографию. В эпоху глобальных перемен, таких как окончание холодной войны и падение Берлинской стены,он путешествовал и много снимал в странах бывшего восточного блока и на Кавказе. В начале 90-х оказался в самом очаге Чеченской войны – конфликта, который Грину было суждено освещать более десяти лет.
Это стало для него личным делом и в 2004 году вылилось в книгу подназванием «Открытая рана». Эта эпическая поэма Грина о людях Чечни сделала его известным для широкой аудитории. С тех пор он работал практически во всех горячих точках мира.
Долгое время Стенли Грин был членом известного фотоагентства l’Agence Vu. Он один изоснователей и совладельцев недавно организованного фотоагентства NOOR.
